And then one fine morning — So we beat on, boats against the current, borne back ceaselessly into the past.

— Scott Fitzgerald, The Great Gatsby

Current project:
Flyfishing at the Maldives

In short, the salmon’s life cycle consists of migrations. From the river’s freshwater, for hatching and spawning, to the sea and saltwater where they migrate for growth. In the winter of 2024, Emilie did a similar journey as her beloved salmon. From the ice-covered waters of Sweden, she travelled to the Maldivian saltwater and atolls of the Indian Ocean in search of the infamous Giant Trevally. And just like the salmon, she had the intention of growing — as a fly fisher.

Vad jag pratar om när jag pratar om flugfiske

Old project:
A story about passing on passion through generations.

Growing up, TV-host and fly fishing profile Emilie Björkman, fishing was second nature, following in her mother’s footsteps. She turned fly fisher at the age of 15 and caught her first Salmon (Salmo salar) for more than 10 years ago. That moment changed her life. Now she’s back to where it all began — in northern Sweden. Meanwhile, life has changed for the Baltic salmon as well; and now Emilie has children of her own.

The producer
The filmmaker
  • TV-Host & Producer

Emilie has been fishing since childhood, and she’s been working with fly fishing for more than 15 years — as a writer, public speaker, instructor and TV-host. Today she is one of the Sweden’s most renowned, as well as, beloved fly fishing profiles and have hosted TV-shows like SVT’s Fiskeliv and “Vad jag pratar om när jag pratar om flugfiske”. Emilie is a Patagonia fly fishing ambassador and her passion for the wild Baltic salmon is massive.

  • Filmmaker & Photographer

Ted has been telling stories from the banks of the wild salmon rivers up north, for almost 20 years. First as writer and photographer, working with national and international fly fishing press and leading brands within the industry. Although he’s still writing, the last six years he’s pivoted more into filmmaking and has won several awards for his films. In 2020 he co-produced the book “Baltlax” with Håkan Stenlund.

  • Fixer & project manager

When Lars settled down on the bank of Torneälven, for more than 20 years ago, it was for the love of the Baltic Salmon. Since then, he’s been synonymous with fly fishing for Baltic salmon up north — as a guide, fly shop owner, product- and destination developer and have, throughout the years, featured in numerous articles, tv-shows and films regarding fly fishing in northern Sweden — nationally as well as internationally.
